Visit to the Microgravity Simulation Platform at IDR

Today has been a very special day for our team. We had the honor of visiting the Instituto Universitario de Microgravedad "Ignacio Da Riva" (IDR) at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). This center is globally recognized for its excellence in research and development in microgravity conditions.

Our visit focused on the impressive air bearing at the IDR, an advanced testing platform that simulates microgravity conditions with exceptional precision. This system will allow us to conduct tests on our Attitude Control System (ACS), a crucial component for the stability and orientation of our satellites.

What fascinated us the most was the technology behind the air bearing. This device virtually eliminates all friction thanks to a pressurized air film, allowing for free and frictionless movement. The ability to replicate a microgravity environment on Earth is essential for our tests, and seeing this technology in action was truly inspiring.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Aeronáutica y del Espacio of the UPM, and especially to the Instituto Universitario de Microgravedad "Ignacio Da Riva" (IDR), for making these state-of-the-art facilities available to us. Their support and collaboration are invaluable for the advancement of our research and development.

We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work in such an innovative environment and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future. Thank you for such an enriching experience!
